GWG Mark III
Something fudamentally wrong with the last page even after the drastic surgery. hopefully THIS ONE won't keep crashing my internet browser! No posts tonight. I'm angry and sleepy.
- Welcome to the blogsite for my work in progress "Guerillas Without Guns," a research project about "utopian means for imperial gain in the former USSR."
For those unfamiliar, There is a semi-invisible Cold War going on between the US-NATO-EU-led "West" and Russia over influence in Russia's former Soviet Republics. Russia's tools are the usual; common interests, economic leverage, and neighborly belligerence. The more sophisticated West has a wider tool kit; one of the most potent tools is what I call "weaponized nonviolence," the targeted steering of popular opinion in a targeted nation to their own ends. Don't believe the democracy hype - it's about power for both sides.
For those familiar with the issues, I am neither pro-Russia nor pro-West. Though I do have a tendency to root for the underdog (which all in all means Putin's Russia), I can cleanly embrace neither side, just describe the mechanics with my usual cynicism and caustic logic. As to why I can't support Putin, as if his nationalist and authoritarian tendencies aren't enough, check this story. As for why I can't support Bush and co., check my other sites on 9/11: They Let it Happen - The Frustrating Fraud - The 12/7-9/11 Treadmill and Beyond
